Heyy guess what?! Summer's 2nd birthday is coming up soon! (March 17th) I'm going to have a random Summer drawing Contest!

Summer = (human) (furry)

Objective: Draw my character Summer, furry or human. (No sexual situations or nudity allowed.)

Contest End: March 16th is when you need your entry in by. March 17th (Summer's actual birthday!) is when judging by me and will take place. Winners will be posted sometime on that day.

Anyone who is interested in getting a piece of work critiqued, please send your work to me at conversewearingjedi@hotmail.com. Use "Critique" as your subject. Make sure to let me know where you're having trouble, or if you just want a general critique.

A few pieces will be selected to put in the magazine. If yours happens to be one of them, we will be sure to ask your permission first.

There may be a few tutorials from me coming out of this! <3

Magazine stuff!!!

The Magazine Fan Submitted Gallery (MFSG)

Purpose: A gallery devoted to spreading the word of those who aren't as lucky as some who are popular. A place in which people can submit whatever they want! (within small, pg-13 boundries)

What do I do?: Submit your art! whatever it might be! whether you are a painter, drawer, sculptor, writer, photographer, or WHATEVER-er! It's all fair play. Your only limited to ways that can express who you are! (aka no fan art of stuff like naruto, etc. xP ). Plus you must create a new journal, and copy-n-paste this in their. (once is enough through out the contest).

What do I get out of this?: A certain number will be selected to be featured in The MFSG! Which is an article in The Nameless.

What's The Nameless?: A magazine devoted to all that needs to be spread out more. It's the quiet things that are trying to get a boost (even if for now our audience is quite small, just one more reader is always beneficial to any artist!)

Can I submit more than one?: Yes you may, however only once a month. Ending with August 1st (the last days of feburary count towards march). When this thing is over, if you are selected we pick one of yours that we like.

Do I win anythings?: From half a page to a page in The Nameless. Isn't that all you need? When all you have to do is just give us one your pieces of art (we can't come to you... you have to come to us! this is the first step in order to get yourself heard~)

Why "copy-n-paste the rules"?: Just to get this contest "out" more~ We want as MANY different and diverse entries as possible. (meaning we don't just want all anime stuff or all photography... or all literature... we want a little of everything so our readers can enjoy whatever they like!)

Official Rules:

Contest Name: The Magazine Fan Submitted Gallery (MFSG)

What to do:

-Create a piece of artwork or literature (aka anything that can be posted on Deviant Art that is not fan art). no theme or anything, we accept it also if it was done before the contest was said.
-You MUST copy-n-paste the rules (from "start" to "end") and create a NEW journal entry. Once we check it, your entry is valid.
-Either Note or your entry.

Specifications: Must be 300 dpi (don't know what that is? look it up) and must be original work.

Restrictions:
-No Fan art (your piece will be in a publicized magazine... meaning we can't deal with copyright issues)
-Nothing over PG-13 (our audience maybe targeted for 10s and 20s but just to be safe, nothing that you wouldn't show anyone under 13)
-Only 1 piece can be submitted every month. (total is 5)


Prize: A spot in The Nameless magazine.

Deadline: August 1, 2008 12:01 a.m.



Theme: Your Scarf

Explanation: As the autumn season draws near, people start to take out their scarfs for the harsher cold to come. Knitted scarfs are all woven uniquely. Each thread brings forth another piece of warmth to the person who wears it. What is your scarf look like?

Dumber explanation: Either create a scarf design, depict what your "real" scarf is like or what is something that gives you comfort like a scarf.

What to do:
-Create a piece of artwork depicting the theme (artwork means drawing, painting, photography, literature, etc. etc. aka whatever you can post on Deviant Art)
-You MUST copy-n-paste this part of the journal (from where it says "start" all the way to "end") and create a new journal entry of your own and paste it their.
-You can write a few things to explain your artwork (you might be quoted in your entry) this is not a requirement.
-Must be pg-13 or less
-No fanart
-You may submit a max of 3 entries.
